Southeastern Divers Inc. purchased EVE 5 at DEMA 2006. We were not using EVE at the time and had been researching POS systems for the better part of a year. After speaking with the ISSYS team at DEMA we were sold. We stood in the ISSYS booth at DEMA and asked “will EVE do this” questions until we finally realized we needed to be asking “how does EVE do this” questions. Upon returning from DEMA we immediately began looking at POS hardware and with the help of the ISSYS team very quickly made our decision and ordered hardware.
Once the hardware arrived we began the task of installing EVE and making the hardware work. With a little help from ISSYS this task was accomplished quickly and easily. Now we faced the dreaded task of entering our inventory and student/customer data. One phone call to PADI and the next day with a few key strokes our student data and customer data was in the system. WOW! Nothing can really be this easy. Learning to use the import function in EVE proved simple and straight forward. Now all we had to do was contact vendors for the data and off we went. It was only a matter of a few days and we had over 95% of our data entered, all store inventory counted and in the system with min/max levels set and everything bar coded.
We went live with EVE on January 1, 2007. If you had told me at DEMA that this could have been done this fast and easily I would have thought you were lying.
Using EVE has proven to be as easy and intuitive as installing EVE was. We discover a new feature or a better way to do things using EVE every day. EVE addresses every aspect of operating a dive center on a day to day basis. We are extremely pleased with how easy EVE is making many of the mundane day to day tasks of operating a dive center. There are tasks that in the past we dreaded doing, that now with EVE we actually look forward to because they are so easy.
From inventory control, to service bookings, rental bookings, course scheduling and tracking to trip management, EVE can do it all.
One worry we had with going with a brand new version of any software is the inevitable bugs and glitches that will be encountered. We have experienced very few and they have been very minor. Most have already been corrected with Service Pack 1. EVE has proven to be a trouble free and stable piece of software. When technical support has been needed the ISSYS team has been easy to contact and quick to respond. (It is also obvious to me that these guys were smart enough to build a piece of software that would not need a lot of support.)
EVE is worth every bit of $500 a year. The amount of money EVE will save our business will far exceed $500 a year.
I would recommend EVE 5 to any dive center considering installing or upgrading a computer system. EVE is a great package at a great price.

I've been in Dive Retail business for over 20 years and have a computer background. I have never been satisfied with POS systems we've had to choose from until EVE was developed. The conversion capabilities, the amount of information that can be easily accessed and exported and the future enhancements make EVE the choice for all PADI retailers.

I looked at the EVE system and I saw the great possibilities. EVE is, by far, leagues better from a marketing prospective than any other system I have ever seen. Opening a new scuba business, adopting EVE is a “no-brainer”, but to change from a system that I, and more importantly, my staff, had become comfortable with was a prospect I wasn’t initially ready to embrace.
With the entry of Novomaris though, everything clicked for me. Not only would I have the most powerful POS system available, but it would be in an environment where the potential of system could explode. The longer I waited to make the change the more it would cost me by not accessing the systems potential. I made the jump.
The first thing that Novomaris provides me is that I don’t have to worry about my backups or the security of my data. It’s online all the time and backed up with security and routine that I could never achieve otherwise. I couldn’t believe how easy it was to set it up and how seamless it is to operate. It is as though it is on you own hard drive. That’s the simple, even mundane part and it is cheaper than you can get it from anybody.
Second, I can get to my data and my store in real time from anywhere in the world from my laptop. WWWOOOWWW!
I can look at the day’s business and at every invoice of everyone that came into my store from the bar at Capt. Don’s. I can send them an email thanking them for coming in that day and say I’m sorry for being in Bonaire and not being able to meet them in person. <grin> I can create a mail merge and send my best photo of the day to everyone on my “travel with me list” at that same time. If they came into the store and updated their email address that morning, then my email is going to the right place.
That sounds really exotic, but I can do all of that from my laptop from my home…my bedroom…
That’s what I can use it for today. But …
Novomaris can give me an online presence that is amazing. Bingo, there is an online shopping cart. So you don’t want to sell gear online, ok, but why not trips and classes and T-Shirts? Why not allow someone to buy their friend a birthday gift? What about gift cards … Heck! That’s like printing money… Yours !!!
What about integrating you web site so that when you change a class calendar it is also changed on your website? ….Seriously! … in real time. …and, yes, class schedules and trips and employee schedules and everything. Change it in one place and it is everywhere! How much time and would that save and the confusion factor…”:look at the website.”
How about birthday emails, personalized and mailed on the day with no input from you ?!?! It just happens and they send you a thank you note that you respond to from Capt. Don’s saying “Wish you were here!”
How many of you have problems keeping your pricing up-to-date with the manufacturers? What if when the manufacturers updated it’s pricelist it was immediately updated in your PO system, customer invoice system both on the web and in your store? Newsletter list maintenance, entire website maintenance with up-to-date technology and graphics are all there. The potentials that are there for you to plug into are phenomenal.
EVE is a program that has been built by divers for divers. Well let’s qualify this .. I’m a “fall off the boat kind of guy” but these are folks are the kind of techies that live on the exploratory edge and just want to make it perfect. Shoot, I’d trust these guys to pack your re-breather! Seriously, I have been and continue to be impressed at how flexible and dynamic this system is. Coupled with Novomaris and the myriad of services they can provide make this system one that every PADI Dive Center should actively embrace.
The marketplace is now in cyber space. Like it, don’t like it, but that’s where it is. EVE coupled with Novomaris gives you the opportunity to be there with your current and future customers. Don’t’ wait. Get out in front of the curve.
